President Wedesky remarked at the last meeting that the Board needed to spend something just to prove their existence to the community. (I Spend Therefore I Am" ???)

At any rate August 2 meeting will feature a presentation of the Security Camera subcommittee. They hope to come up with a camera proposal that will benefit the most of the members of the BID each of whom paid money in. If you have questions or concerns PLEASE BE THERE TO VOICE THEM! Unless there is a voice from the community, the BID will have a tendency for self-serving cronyism. BE THERE.

At the last meeting, the board decided unofficially that it did not need to hire private security services because the Milwaukee Police have done such an exemplary job of keeping crime down to one of the safest levels in the city. There were enough people present to hold the board accountable for spending money on a problem that doesn't exist.

At the next meeting (July 19, see notice above) there will be a presentation / demonstration by a security camera company as to how private security cameras operate and how much they cost. At the last meeting, a representative from the police department demonstrated how a listing of available street-level cameras can deter and solve crime, should there be any.
